In this week’s installment from Off the Record with Martin Luther
, Luther reminds us to be grateful for the years that God gives us:
3614. The talk turned to the lifespan of humans and that we should be thankful to God for it. For if one lives to be forty, he is really one out of 40,000, the others died in childhood, youth, and manhood. Therefore, each one should well wish to thank God that he has survived for so many years in place of so many others, and dedicate himself to God’s honor. (p. 134)
