Mondays with Marty

In this week’s installment from Off the Record with Martin Luther, Luther explains the relationship between philosophy and theology:

5245. Philosophy has nothing to do with spiritual matters, and I am concerned that men will mix it up too much with theology. I do not totally reject its use, but one should employ it as an outline or guide, the way one uses other universal laws. But it should never become the central point of theology. (p. 433)
