, Luther cautions us against asking why things happen:
3107. The most difficult torments of the soul occur, when the devil brings us to the point where we search for the causes of health and happiness and the causes of misfortune. Nothings brings about such torment easier than to search into the reasons why this or that happens. That started with Adam and will continue on through all of our descendants. The question “Why” tortured all the saints (p. 122)
