In this week’s installment from Off the Record with Martin Luther, Luther provides his own take on the relationship between the brightness of the gospel and the darkness of the world:

6754. I think the case is that the greater and brighter the light of the Gospel, the more evil the world becomes. Christ for all His efforts during His time created vexation, and Paul did not make many devout Christians (p. 302-3)
